PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Habitat for Humanity Freeborn/Mower is now seeking an individual to recruit and guide local volunteers to meet its volunteer needs. The position will entail seeking help from area groups such as working adults, college students, retirees, organizations, businesses, and churches. Volunteers will be guided to specific tasks and times that fit the work schedules of the volunteers and the programs. Monitoring and communicating with volunteers will be done chiefly through electronic media.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. Must value and be experienced in volunteering.
2. Must be able to present effectively Habitat’s story and the values of volunteering.
3. Must be a person able to work with a variety of people who need encouragement and coaching.
4. Must be able to develop and execute a work program that achieves the organization’s goals.
5. Must have computer skills, hopefully with website development.
6. Must have effective writing and verbal skills to present Habitat and volunteer needs to a variety of audiences.
7. Must be a self motivated, independent worker.
8. Must be 18 years or older.
9. Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
AmeriCorps VISTA is a one-year commitment from 11/13/07-11/17/08
