Senior Buyer

The primary responsibilities of the Senior Buyer include:
-Procuring of direct materials as assigned / required.
-Assuring continuity of material supply required for N.A. Manufacturing facilities.
-Overseeing overall supplier on time delivery, quality and cost requirements.
-Leading the development, deployment and execution of commodity / supply strategies.
-Acting as a resource and provides guidance to the buying organization based on experience and knowledge level.

Other responsibilities include:
-Implementing and executing commodity strategy to support divisional cost, quality, delivery, supplier reduction, and diversity sourcing goals
-Purchasing orders and Blanket orders, responsible for the system set up, maintenance and renewal.
-Negotiating price with suppliers (cost down and cost up) to profit plan requirements
-Negotiating delivery and quantity with suppliers as required
-Managing of purchase records in the MRP systems (Pricing, lead times, min buy quantities…)
-Managing of supplier records in the MRP system and Wisper system
-Establishing and implementing of pull production / stocking arrangements with suppliers
-Managing of ECN and MPS changes, and maintenance of purchase records in the MRP system
-Assuring specific commodity supplier QOS process
-Managing ramp up / ramp down phase 5 of sourcing process working closely with user plant
-Developing positive ethical relationships with suppliers
-Adhering to Eaton standard sourcing process and divisional operating procedures
-Developing and continuously improving standardized purchasing process / divisional operating procedures
-Managing Supplier invoice reconciliation process (AP12 / 13)
-Managing supplier compliance with Eaton Corporate initiatives
-Working closely with customer plants and suppliers (travel)

Job qualifications:
-Minimum 5 years buying experience
-Manufacturing industry experience
-Experience and knowledge of MRP systems, preferably Oracle or MFG pro
-Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work in teams
-Solid negotiation skills• Demonstrated Project leadership success
-Results and detailed oriented
-Specific commodity experience

Educational requirements:
-CPIM certification preferred
-Business and / or Engineering College Degree required
-MBA preferred
